About Crystal Wiggins

I've been a photographer since age twelve, which may explain why my interest in photography is so diverse. I have a philosophy for each type of photography. Below are each of these philosophies.

Portraits

I love challenge of photographing people who feel they are not photogenic. I feel that I'm not photogenic, so it's such a big pay off for me when a person gets their photos back and proclaims, "I look good in these photos!"

Weddings

I began photographing weddings professionally at age nineteen and have been at it ever since. I enjoy photographing weddings because they are such happy occasions and the love in the air is contagious. When you look at the different weddings sampled on this web site, note the differing styles that are represented. Before photographing a wedding I meet with the couple to investigate what style of photography the couple feels best represents their personalities.

Children

When I photograph children, my motto is, "Just let them be children." They have such natural expressions when they are playing or discovering the world around them. I like to take time when photographing children so that I can eventually capture that perfect moment when they don't really notice the camera any longer. Parents involvement in photographing their children is a big plus. A couple of the children on my site have great expressions on their faces because they are looking at their smiling parents.

Scenic / Still life

I always say that some flowers and scenery just call out to be photographed. Water lilies floating in the pond at Monet's gardens in Giverny, or a sleepy beach in the West Indies opens our imagination and calls out for our full attention. My shooting locations include Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Mexico, New York, the West Indies, France, Ireland, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.
